Why Should
Your School Have an Invention Fair?
“ It is
important to recognize the entire story of civilization is based on
invention. Invention is historically one
of the strongest driving forces in human
affairs. If children can comprehend
invention, they can better understand the past and the present and predict the
future more reliably.”
-- B. Edward Schlesingers, Jr.

Inventors Fair recognizes one
student per entry. Science Fair CO registered group entries have been
allowed but can only be recognized and awarded as a single
person entry.
Two methods of selecting award
recipients are utilized for both Science Fair and Inventors Fair. Each method
is independent of the other!
1)
Judges Category Awards by grade and division level: Trophies and prizes are awarded.
All student exhibitors are judged by one group of three inventor fair
judges based on Originality, Usefulness, Safety, Research ( “Product” and Scientific
Research may apply), Marketability, and Presentation (Display, Prototype, and
Oral Interview). Each judging group’s
scores are averaged and compared to other group averages. Weighted fairness
factors are applied if one or more groups appear to be scoring too high or too
low on their overall average. High scoring projects are reviewed and final
placements determined.
2)
Special Category Awards by merit of the invention and special criteria of the award.
Judges scores do not apply!
